THE RED RIVER/ENCHANTED CIRCLE MOTORCYCLE RALLY VOLUNTEER BOARD
&
some special people who help to make the rally possible

The Rally Board is looking for a few good men and women to protect the Constitution of the United States of America and build a platform strong enough to hold a WET T-SHIRT CONTEST!

The primary goals of the Rally Board are to improve the quality of the experience for each Rally goer, make the Rally work as smoothly as possible for the local and state authorities, increase motorcycle awareness and motorcycle tourism in Northern New Mexico and to dispel negative assumptions about Bikers (or if you prefer, Motorcyclists).

No matter how you look at It, Good, Bad or Ugly, the rally as we know it today was started by (adult) bikers coming to Red River to blow off steam (in the bars), go camping, do a little fishing and some scenic motorcycle riding in the mountains.

The rally started at and first benefited “Kate & Gary’s Bar”, now The Bull O’ The Woods, and later as it grew, it spread to The Motherlode. These two bars are where the Board believes Ground Zero for the party has always been and should always be.

Our pro-Rally Mayor, Craig "Mad-Dog" Swagerty.

The Rally's growth and overflow should extend to the rest of the town, its merchants and vendors. Beyond that, it should extend to the towns around the Enchanted Circle as it grows…We all know most things, including bike rallies either grow or die, nothing stays the same, that would be boring. Boring rallies don’t last…

Secondly, the Rally benefits restaurants and stores as it grows.
Thirdly, the Rally has been filling lodges and emptying gas stations.
Fourth in the benefit line and hopefully last is the town government in the form of taxes, fees and permits. No real motorcycle rally has ever been created to benefit government. It does, but should always be the by-product of a healthy rally.

The Rally Board is made up of local Northern New Mexico volunteer Bikers, concerned merchants, bar owners and townsfolk who enjoy and believe the rally and motorcycle tourism is a good thing for the entire Enchanted Circle.

As far as the Rally Board is concerned, the Rally is owned neither by the town of Red River, its Economic Development Board, the Chamber of Commerce, the bars or any promotional company...

Since the Rally Board believes no one group owns the Rally, we believe it is best served by a group conscious of its members. The Rally Board wishes to work with all state and local officials but will remain autonomous to reduce the chance for government corruption to sneak in…

The Rally Board will have open meetings regularly throughout the year to discuss issues pertinent to the rally and make plans for the upcoming year.

Let us always remember this rally is for the bikers, NOT the town! They are the Golden Goose. Squeeze too hard and they will go elsewhere. The average Harley owner nowadays attends 2-3 rallies per year, is college educated, mid-forties with an income of $40,000+, is politically active and votes with his or her feet and dollars. In other words, they go to rallies where they are treated well and get some value and entertainment for their money.

The amazing and talented Miss Priscilla, she steers Steve...

Bikers don’t return to those rallies where they feel shafted, harassed and un-appreciated or get the same-old same-old lukewarm Bar-B-Q and soggy salad year after year. There are hundreds of little rallies out there on Memorial Day weekend for them to choose from in this big old free country of ours. They can open dozens of motorcycle magazines or search hundreds of websites for cool things to do and nice places to go that weekend. They continue to come to the Red River Rally because they are treated like friends here, not cash-cows…Then let's be honest and remember that the Bikers came to the bars and this is the biggest event of the year for the bars, as it should be…This is an adult activity the bars have courted and nurtured to the ridicule and dismay of some of the town for more than twenty years…And it is now the biggest single economic weekend of the year for the town and is quickly becoming the same for Northern New Mexico.

There are many family events throughout the year that don’t put anyone in the bars…This is the Biker's event and major consideration and exception should be granted as to what works for them. Without the bars, the Bikers wouldn’t come. There is plenty of overflow business for the rest of town, as there are far more Bikers than there is space in the bars. We all know they need places to eat; sleep, shop and gas up…besides most of them are carrying Gold and Platinum credit cards in their custom made chaps…
